Queen of Katwe tells the true story of Phiona Mutesi, a girl who sold corn on the streets of rural Uganda until her world rapidly changed when she was introduced to the game of chess as a 10-year-old. There are lots of movies I’m excited about this summer (I’m looking at you, Finding Dory!), but there’s a movie that will be released in theaters this coming September that has definitely piqued my interest: Disney’s Queen of Katwe.
